The Bussin' Waffle Co.

A fast, playful brand website for a late-night waffle stall in Ahmedabad

Key outcomes

  • Delivered a fast, on-brand website, with the goals agreed before the build began
  • Kept every visitor pointed at the two actions that matter: visit the stall or order on Swiggy
  • Balanced rich motion with quick loading, so the site stays lively without slowing down on a phone

The problem

The Bussin’ Waffle Co. is a late-night waffle stall in Ahmedabad with a strong, playful brand and a simple goal: get people who are out late to visit the stall or order on Swiggy. They needed a website that felt as fun and appetising as the waffles themselves, loaded quickly on a phone, and made it obvious in a second where to go and how to order.

What I did

  • Ran the whole project, from agreeing what the site needed to do, to planning the work, reviewing each section with the client, and keeping a small team of five moving to one plan.
  • Kept the build focused on two clear actions, visiting the stall and ordering on Swiggy, so nothing on the page got in the way of them.
  • Paired a modern front end with real restraint, using Next.js and React styled with Tailwind CSS, and motion from Framer Motion, GSAP and Lenis, to give the playful, mouth-watering feel the brand wanted while keeping the page quick to load.

Why it was tricky

A site with this much movement can easily become slow or distracting, especially on a phone late at night on mobile data, which is exactly when these customers are looking. The balance was making it lively and appetising without letting the animation get in the way of the two things that mattered: finding the stall and placing an order.

How it turned out

The site is live at thebussinwaffle.in, a fast, playful brand site that captures the crisp outside, molten inside feel of the waffles and points every visitor straight to the stall or to Swiggy.

Decision log

A record of the main choices made while building the website, and the reasons behind them.

Decision Options considered Choice Reason
How much animation to use Heavy motion everywhere, or motion with restraint Rich motion on the hero, lighter touches elsewhere Keeps the playful feel without slowing the page on a phone
What the page asks visitors to do Many links, or a few clear actions Two clear actions: visit the stall or order on Swiggy Late night customers decide fast, so the choice stays simple
How to build the front end A simple static site, or a modern animated stack Next.js and React with Tailwind, Framer Motion, GSAP and Lenis Gives the lively brand feel while staying quick to load
How each section is agreed Build then review, or agree first Agree each section with the client before building Less repeated work and a consistent look
